Suppose you met me 5 or 10 years ago. You wouldn't know me for brows. You would probably know me more by my contemporary fine art and portraits. I spent years building a business and a name for myself in the art world. For nearly two decades, this was my sole purpose. So why did I suddenly drop the brush and pick up the blade? Well, let me tell you...

While I was able to satisfy my need to share my art and empower women by participating in local charity art events, I was still an army of one. Every event I arrived at alone, set up alone, packed up alone. Booking gigs fell on me, as did every single clerical and accounting task required to have a functioning business.
I was hustling myself to death for wealth that I couldn't share with anyone. What once was so gratifying on a soul level had become just the opposite. It was draining, and I didn't see how I could go on.

I set out to create what I desired most, a way to use my God-given gifts and passion for art to empower and uplift women. I knew I wanted to be in an industry where I could cater my services to women and use my artistic background, but what was also just as important to me was having a team to share the triumphs and tribulations. I wanted to help set these women on a path to financial freedom because I have experienced first hand what a transformative force that can be in one’s life.
Okay, so we have our criteria… women-oriented, art-focused, team environment. The only problem was, I had no idea what unicorn career would tick all of the boxes.

Then, In 2016, I had an aha moment! A friend of mine mentioned that she was signing up for a microblading course created by the creator of microblading himself! The course was going to be held in the Dallas area in a few weeks that summer, so I had to decide quickly if I wanted in. I decided this was it, this was the unicorn I had been chasing!

So, what exactly am I getting at?
Well, consider this your gentle reminder that you’re amazing and you can do anything! Look, I get it; a complete 180° in life is flipping terrifying. Especially after you’ve spent years or even decades plotting one course just to forgo it for another completely, all of that time spent, all of that energy invested, not to mention finances. But here's the thing, sis, if something stops serving you, stop.
Life is too short to do something that you don’t love. With a little planning and hard work, you’d be amazed where you’ll be in 5 years!
